Clever marketing scheme on Yamaha's part, heh?

Well, as I continue to analyze and narrow down my options, the Tyros currently sits at the TOP of my list. My other top choices are (were?) the XD9 and KN7000, but the latest news that these boards don't provide an easy ONE BUTTON method to activate 'non neighboring' style variations changes preceded by a fill, came as a BIG disappointment. I don't know about the rest of you, but I make frequent style variation changes thru out a song, and having a fill occur before each variation change is an essential element to provide realism and spontaneity to a performance.

A Tyros is currently the strongest kb contender to win my heart & pocketbook, but who knows. Until then, I'm still content with the PSR2000.

Donny, which KB are you currently leaning towards most now? the Ketron XD9?

I played outside at the Church picnic today. I put a plug into the headphone jack to cut off the speakers. I positioned myself where I could JUST hear the mains, cranked everything wide open and BOOGIED DOWN. I'll bet Donny NJ could hear me in New Jersey.

Well, because I had the volume wide open, the bass was a little muddy from the keyboard speakers. It sounded better through the mains. I was using my Peavey DJS1000 system (no longer available) which has a sub-bass and satellite on each side.
Since I was outdoors, feedback wasn't a problem and I wanted to hear the mains.
