OK, on the advice of all of you who like to tell political jokes, I am going to lighten up. Here is my contribution to this thread - hope you don't laugh too hard, because this is very much a true story:

An English doctor said, "Medicine in my country is so advanced, we can take a kidney out of one person, put it in another, and have him looking for work in six weeks."

A German doctor replied, "That's nothing! In Germany, we can take a lung out of one person, put it in another, and have him looking for work in four weeks."

A Russian doctor added, "In my country medicine is so advanced, we can take half a heart from one person, put it in another, and have them both looking for work in two weeks."

The American doctor, not to be outdone, said, "Hah! We took a man with half a brain from Texas, and sent him to the White House, and now half a country is looking for work!"

Works both ways Alex. I'm sure some people can just laff at the joke and leave the hidden "dig" aside. I invite all sides of all debates, even though politics is WAY down the list of my priorities in the humor department.
Thanx for joining back in, in the spirt of things !

Uncle Dave, all I was trying to say is that this is the wrong place for this type of the debate.

Though I certainly appreciate the humor of the above jokes, I was taught explicitedly as a child, never to discuss politics or religion (jokes or otherwise) in mixed company. Our forum is a unique 'special place' where forum members from many differing backgrounds (political, religious, ethnic, etc) can come together to share the ONE passion we ALL share: 'Arranger Keyboards' & 'Music'.

Discussing politics (jokes or otherwise), does not contribute anything positive, and can only lead to membership division no matter what side of the political fence you're standing on. There are plenty of internet forums dedicated to politics, so I encourage people to go THERE for that. Just my opinion.

Ok, back on topic . . . Tyros Rules!

But we are discussing politics and related jokes with people that also shares the same passion which is music. It would not be fun if we discuss it with non-musicians.

This is just a side trip. Of course, our main discussion is music and gears. It is also a community where we share many things. But the binding glue is still music and arranger gears !

It's a fact that the atmosphere gets often crimped when politics and/or religion comes to the discussion. Of course, this is an arranger keyboard forum and we're not supposed to discuss these delicate subjects.

However, I consider this "place", as a place where I meet FRIENDS and even if "etiquette" warns us enough about the dangers of going into these kind of discussions, it is kind of natural that we sometimes broaden our "conversation" between friends. After all, many of us meet here, EVERY DAY! And I always had the ideal that people could ALSO discuss these subjects while keeping calm and reasonable. That's why I, once in a while, break the golden rule... But practice just makes us go back to reality, right?

Conclusion: let's get back to what brings us all here

-- José.
