Three things I wonder:

1. If all the neighbors went out and watched the lighting production in awe (like I did).

2. That house must've had a strong circuit breaker.

3. How much in electricity bill the guy had to pay that month.

Actually, It's pretty simple if you have the necessary equipment. You can control lighting with a DMX Dimmer Pack, run the dimmer packs to a DMX/MIDI light control console and run a good computer program to control the light through MIDI.
