Well, the test to do now is comparing both keyboards listening them through external amplifier and loudspeakers. Perhaps there is not a great difference.

It is the same with Tyros. Someone said here that Tyros and PSR200, listened at external amplifier and loudspeakers, doesn't sound too much different.
Cheers

64 note polyphony on the KN2600 vs 127 note on the KN7000's .
The KN7000 does use a different sound engine, but the KN2600 will except KN7000 custom patterns .

The KN2600 also comes with audio recording software (LIKE KN7000), allowing you the ability to sing and play , than have it backed up on the SD card for audio playback .

"Audio Playback" on the KN2600 is important . All manufacturer's see it as a better way to playback music vs. midi files .
I think this is General Music's approach to the Genesys ( Audio play back being better that Midi ).

I think the audio playback via sd cards is a great value (KN 2600 only ).

I should have my 1st shipments soon .

Hi,
I actually have a KN7, and I tend to think the sd card & audio capabilties has been a much overlooked feature.

I've recorded backing tracks as wav files from 9000pro, va7, a friends Wersi, and also planning to incorporate audio loops from Acid Pro.
I've then converted these wav files into mp3's & saved them to sd card via Panasonic SD Audio Writing Kit. From there I just plug the sd card into KN7 and play along using KN7 voices for left & right hand and the backing track is played as mp3 . Beats trying to revoice a midifile created on another instrument.

I haven't tried it yet, but the kn7 sequencer can sync with the audio tracks.

best wishes
Rikki

I'm not surprised they put 'thin' organ voices on the 2600 and 2400. One of the big selling features of the KN7000 was the new organ sounds, so they wouldn't want to put those on their smaller keyboards. The manufacturer's are careful about what features they take off, in hopes you'll spring for the top of the line.

How much do the smaller keyboards weigh?

The KN7000 is heavy! At least for me it is. I love it, but I don't want to carry it! I broke down and bought a PSR550 which is only 19.2 pounds, or half the weight of the KN7000. The KN can stay at home, and I'll take the Yamaha. It's a nice keyboard for the price, I'm been pleasantly surprised with it so far, I'm still in the learning stages though.
