Boo. In items like your Korg ih harmony there is not room within the cases to put an internal power supply.

3k (and 1500)has USB to device port(like triton extreme, motif es-you can use as portable HD without HD noise)unlike tyros and 2100,1100 which only has regular usb.

As someone who has owned Yamaha mid-level keyboards, i.e. the PSR740, PSR2000, PSR2100, and now the PSR3000, all the predecessors to the PSR3000 had dedicated buttons for 1) TALK ON/OFF, 2) EFFECTS ON/OFF, 3) EFFECTS VARIATION ON/OFF, 4) ECHO/HARMONY ON/OFF, 5) VOCAL HARMONIZER ON/OFF, AND 6) VOCAL EFFECTS ON/OFF.

Excuse me, but the absence of these features is glaring.

OK, the PSR3000 is way better than its predecessors in all other aspects, but the big reason for upgrading technology is 1) features and 2) ease of use. In regards to tweaking voices and vocals during live play, the PSR3000 is less easy to use.

Maybe Yamaha wanted to take away features so that people would still buy the Tyros. They could have also put a low voltage electricity current running through the keys, just enough to make the keyboard slightly uncomfortable. Then many people would still buy the Tyros.

Ok, Ok, but it DOES have a USB!! LOL

OTOH, the Tyros can be fitted with an internal hard disk and that can be managed from a computer through Windows Explorer, thus you wouldn't need an external hard disk. No muss, no fuss with external drives or power supplies (or drain on USB power supply).

You can't put a hard disk in a 3000, is that correct?

My Tyros has a 40 gig hard disk and every midi and style I have resides on that sucker.

Nope, Can't install an internal hard drive without doing some jury rigging, but it will read an external hard drive via the USB.
