Some pro musicians will prefer the Korg, others the Yamaha.

But look. This guy just wants to get his jollies out at home. The PA1X Pro is a professional keyboard that has a steep learning curve.

The Tyros is very user friendly in comparison - whether or not you prefer the sounds.

As far as style expansion, beyond the styles that already exist on the keyboard, Yamaha should win hands down. There are over a dozen sites that have extra styles: midispot.com, arrangerworkstation.com, psrtutorial.com, svpworld.com, styles-music.de, etc. etc. etc.

I have a feeling that if this guy splurges on the PA1X Pro, he's going to be spending an inordinate amount of time trying to figure out how things work and not making music. Many of you PA1X Pro owners are full time musicians who have all day learning the intricacies of the keyboard.

I'm assuming Dr. White might be a real doctor, and he might not have the time to add Korgology to his specialty.

thanks Beakybird
I'm not really a doctor I'm an informatic engineer so I have no lot of time to learn korgology! .
I think that if the styles are good y prefer the semi weight 71 keys, I don't need sequencer and lot of effects... only good styles and good sound to have good time playing.

Thank you for your reply.

Hi Doc If you are a informatic engineer , the PA1x O.S. should have no problems for you,it is not that difficult.
Know that the PA1x use a touchscreen LCD and you like it or not.
I can say that the styles and sounds on the PA1x Pro are outstanding.
So is the keyfeel, fader control and HD (only on the Pro version)
I play also only for hobby and use Logitech Z - 2200 pc speakers or a headphone.

But be sure to update the O.S. to version 2.5.

Hi,

I see that one of the recent posts in this forum is from 'notlos' who has kindly provided some mp3's of his playing on the Pa1X and, if you dig around, you can find Scott Yee playing his Tyros on his website (do a search for Scott Yee in this forum and you'll find his website link).

So there's a ready-made comparison of the keyboards you're interested in to be heard 'in the flesh', so to speak.

For my own two cents worth, I'd go with the Korg, just for the keybed feel and, to my ears the more 'live' sounding accompaniments. I should make the admission here and now that I have, and still enjoy, my Korg i30.

no its not ! Are you able to dmo both keyboards yourself ? That would be the best thing to do and then make up your own mind. Buying blind is always a hit and miss startegy. But i am confident that with these particluar instruiments you will not be disappointed with either
