I would like to have your opinion on this.
I need to acquire a pair of speakers. I am tried by 12 inches because they are lighter and more handy than the 15 inches.
What do you think about it?
The goal is to animate evenings of 100 or maximum 150 people.

Thanks in advance

PS: I think about the HKaudio PR112.
They seems to be a good deal (weight-dimensions-power-price)

Stam,

If you're playing for 150 people and playing dance music, you need 15-inch speakers. !2-inch speakers just don't have sufficient bass response for larger venues. Take a look at the Barbetta Sona 32-Cs at www.barbetta.com

Cheers,

Gary

Count my vote for 15" speakers as well.

If you visit some forums where they discuss speakers, they take Barbettas to the slaughter house. I'd take a 12" EV or Mackie above most 15" speakers out there. Just my .02

Roy-Andrč...

What's the Barbetta rub? I've heard nothing but good things about them on this forum.

Thank you all for your input.

The Barbetta looks to be a good choice but I am not sure to find them in Europe. ??

Don't you think that a pair of 12-inch (for small gigs) combined with a 18 or 15-inch sub (only for larger venues) can be an alternative?

Ugh, carrying 2 speakers AND a sub-woofer is a lot of work and in my opinion unnecessary with 15" speakers. To me, the Barbettas are over priced. I purchased a PMX2000 powered mixer to run stereo into two old Sunn 15" speakers I had laying around. They sound great for all venues and it only cost me $259 for the amp (new) and about $100 for the speakers. Good thing about this setup is you can always swap out the speakers if you don't like them without having to ditch the amp.
