That can't be right considering the S-900 is supposed to be Mid-Level or Semi-Pro.

I can't imagine taking into consideration that the Yamaha Motif XS dances circles around the features of the S-900 and the S-900 costing more! That just makes no sense. Anyone know what US buyers can expect to pay?

Hi Squeak

Over here in the UK, the retail price of the S900 is £1350.00 (about $2700 USD). I have mine on pre-order for £1080.00 (about $2150 USD).

However, UK prices are always much higher than other parts of the world. I'm not sure if Yamaha has set the official price or release dates for the US/Canada yet. But you can expect to pay much less than we do over here.

Perhaps Ian knows a bit more info.

Regards
James

The full retail list price of the PSR-3000 in Canada is $2499...

If the launch price of the S900 is the same(and it is rumored to be...but don't quote me) then a US price of about $2196 seems right.

Of course, street prices will be lower.

Ian

In Europe, we consider 1€ = 1$ du to the European TAX.

You man even get them cheaper in USA.

EX. You can buy the new Motif XS6 for 2000$ at GC, while in europe the best price is 2250€.

Guys thanx for your opinions its nice to hear everyone's views on this topic, btw Ian I am primarily a Vocal Keyboard Artist ...it shows how we all use an arranger KB in so many different ways when we perform.....different features are used differently for everyones needs....the versatility & personal playing enjoyment alone is worth the money...we'll always have to make workarounds so that we can accomodate how we play & utilize the instrument....personal preferences make the world go around...I'll demo it down the road as I will many others ...size em up and compare, reassess priorities and possibly another purchase if not there's always the next latest & greatest around the corner

Not sure if I would like the multi pads on the right hand? Have to try it first.

when it comes about prices, the best place to buy is US. but then not all of us can shop in there... when i got my keyboards, i ordered them both from uk online stores. uk is not that bad at all.
when i bought my korg pa50, i found the best price at bigdiscountwarehouse.com, it was way cheaper than other places.
and then, my roland e60 i bought from chamberlainmusic.com, also with about 250 euros less than any other internet store in europe (at least those i checked, and they were many!)
