I've heard of some using Roland TD-series drum modules on arrangers, for that G70 'live drum' sound (it's what's built-in to a Roland G70/E80) and there ARE some bass sounds built in to those... Perhaps they might suit you enough if added alongside the Yamaha basses.

Having auditioned MotifES and XS, I must say I thought their contemporary drumkits to be VERY good, but I wasn't as impressed with their acoustic kits as much as the TD-type G70 sounds... What type of drum sounds are you primarily looking for?

Actually I use the TD-12 module (I have the TD-12 drum kit and just take the brain on dance jobs with me.) Before that I used the TD-6.

However, although the Roland TDs are AMAZING for playing electric drums, I can't say the same for their use as a module. The bass drum for example sounds too natural - almost like a live drum kit in a room, instead of giving it the real 'Kick-In-The-Chest' dance sound that actually the Yamaha is quite good at.

Another problem is that there is a slightly noticeable latency (the time it takes from receiving the signal to playing it) which dirties the sound a little.
