I think he probably has good reasons not to use pedals...playing pedals is not for everyone....it's just another acquired skill.

Most of the greats do use them...Joey Defrancesco, Jimmy Smith, Barbara Dennerlein, Chas, Dr. Lonnie Smith...the list goes on.

There are few like Tony, that don't use pedals (at least very much), Paul Shaffer for example...Paul is originally from Canada.

Another one of my favorites was Doug Riley, also known as "Dr. Music"...another Canadian.
