Tyrosman 5, I am one who has back trouble. In fact, I will have surgery correcting Spinal Stenosis at L4 and L5 in July or August. I've dealt with this problem for nearly 30 years and had Cervical Spine Surgery two years ago. Now, having said all that I have tried just about all the smaller and lighter keyboards from Korg, Roland, and Yamaha. All of them sounded ok and certainly do the job on a gig but do not compare in sound to these companies "Flagship" models. Oh yes, I just turned 75 too.
What I have done is develop more efficient ways of getting my equipment in my car and on my Rock N Roller Cart and handled on the gig. So far the added 10 pounds or so has never been an issue for me but I do understand your concern.
Just my opinion - the sound is worth the effort and my clients sure appreciate it.
