hi nielshs,
how could you format the internal memory???
Using a PC(which OS?) and the USB connection, right?
mmm...I don't think it is a recommendable oparation...
...by the way, you can try to format it again, maybe disabling the quick format option (or viceversa)...or some other formatting tool instead of the one included with the OS
Keep us updated...

Regards,
Rival
PS..which software release do you have on G70?

Hi Rival

I use Windows XP and I have used the formating description from the G-70 CD-rom.
The reason why I have formated the internal memory is that I (mistake) deleted some styles on the G-70 via the USB connection and after that the style finder didnīt work.
I will try to disable the quick format.
I use 1.06
Regards
Niels

Hello Niels,
After formatting the internal harddisk, it seems to me you might need to reinstall the O/S.

The fact that you are turning for help to this forum, instead of to Roland's support department just goes to underscore my perepetual complaint about extremely poor customer focus at Roland. To not have telephone or email support with quick response for users of new, supported instruments, which are still under warranty is INEXCUSABLE.

They spend thousands of dollars making instruments with features that people do not want, but will close their ears when we ask for specific features, or for help.

I don't know how G-70 compares with other top instruments (as I have not had a chance to hear it), but all other things being equal, I would rather go with Yamaha (or GEM or Ketron) which have support departments which can be contacted.

I suppose that these are vacation days...at least in Europe...furthermore, if you have a problem, for example on friday, it is very difficult that you can contact the "support department" before next monday....

for Niels...
...nevertheless it is a right suggestion, also because they will suggest you the 'hidden' way to format the internal memory using the G70, this should solve every problem...

Rival

Dear Alex K;

"They spend thousands of dollars making instruments with features that people do not want"

I am curious to this statement. What non-usable features are you referring to?

I totally concur with the customer service comments.

Hi Niels,
as you probably know, some selection of G-70
data take place by using pointers. For instance: choose a User Program using Set List. Therefor I think, G-70 OS can have problems searching original data because of not intended re-organization your SSD. Perhaps it is possible to you creating a new data base on external memory. Testing what happens working with this data, you will have a feeling what is going wrong. Of cource, that's only I'm thinking about your problem. Specialists will be back soon, hopefully.
Regards: Hanspeter
