time for yam to make it.since it's(3k's)keys and built quality got low points from most.it'll sell like pound cakes .also gtr players/vocalists can use it for light gigs from great storage/harm input etc..

And if it is reasonably priced, you wouldn’t have to get rid of your favorite arranger to get it.

If you have an arranger that you are comfortable with the layout, then just adding modules using the main arranger or a dedicated controller keyboard could be a good way to go.

But to do that more keyboard manufactures would have to start making arranger modules and we consumers will have to by them for them to do that.

the closest I've gotten to a psr module is my laptop & omb software.

It's a real pity manufacturer's don't seem to make them anymore ( except Solton, I think still has one?).

Roland made at leat 2 or 3 models back in the 90's, korg had one too that I know of (i5m ) and even technics had an early module, based on the kn2000 ( I think).
Only thing I can think of is that they musn't have been big sellers or we probably would hve seen more models around.

Personally I think they're a great idea.

Does it even really make sense to have an Arranger module? For me, a big part of the advantage of an arranger is the layout of controls that allow for quick access during performance. Wouldn't you loose that with a module in a rack-mount over by the side??

A PSR3000 would be a cool idea (especially if it kept all of the keyboard's controls in the same layout.

However, realistically speaking, it is not likely to happen. There is little competition in the module market - the only up to date offering is from GEM, and from Ketron (more or less), and Ketron seems intent on alienating its user base by not dropping level of customer support. There is simply no impetus on Yamaha to build a high-end module (and besides, it was never their thing - there was never a high-end Yamaha module).

In addition, the price of the PSR3000 is lower than a module from either GEM or Ketron, so if you want the functionality, just buy it with the keyboard. Some will say it is not as compact, but so what? You can use the PSR3000 better than a module, especially as a vocalist or a guitar player, or just put it on top of your favorite keyboard controller, or an electric piano.

What about a PC software/card version of the 3000?

the arranger modules I've had ( Roland, Korg, Technics ) haven't been rackmounts, they're basically boxes roughly
14"long x 10"wide x 3inches high with the buttons and screen on the top. Usually the same layout as the keyboard without the keys and a lot smaller.

i used to just sit them along the top of my digital piano.
