I have just tried out a program called Ventrilo. It supports a voice codec up to 32 kHz 16bit and it sounds really good if you have a fast connection. It is a client and a server. I have set up a test server with that criterias. I talked to a person in the US and the quality was very good! You can read more at: http://www.ventrilo.com

I think it will sound excelent with music and so.

I think you will find that some of us are already "hooked" on Skype, which so far is working very well for us and gives good quality conversation from all parts of the world. Not sure what the 'music' use of your Ventrilo is about.
Also, I note that you especially mention that you have spoken with America. Your profile does not tell us where you are from?
