Any ideas on a good bag for the 2000? I'm looking for thick padding, a good fit (PSRs have unusual dimensions!), and ample storage space in pockets. Thanks in advance.

Marc,
Levy's makes a really good bag that fits the PSR2000 perfectly and sells for $99.00. It has a big zipper pocket in the middle and a pouch on each end which allows for pedals and cables and adapters. There is also a pouch inside the top for the music rack. I just checked my stock and I'm out of this model. I just called the company and ordered more. They are in Canada and will take about 3 weeks to get to me. Let me know if you are interested. I do stock the Yamaha bag but it is not nearly as heavy duty and sells for $59.00. I also have a pro- tech hard bag type case in stock these are the cases that are light weight but hard. It also has a big pocket to hold accessories. I sell this for $129.00 and have it in stock.

Thanks George. I have found the EM539 bag online (8thStreet, $50) and it too looks to be about right (perhaps less padding and pockets?), but I can't seem to find any info on the $99 or the $129 cases you mentioned anywhere. I may be interested in one of them, they sound good for my needs. Could you give me any more details about them? Model numbers? Photos? And (approximately!) what would it cost to ship a case to NY? Do you offer a return policy and/or warranty? Thanks for your help!

Marc,
The case I sell is the EM539DX. If this is the same model as the one you say they sell for $50.00 something is very wrong. I pay more than the price you quoted plus I pay shipping from Canada. Make sure it is the same model because levy's does offer a much less expensive case which is not made nearly as well.

Marc,
I just called my Levys rep and I have the whole scoop now. There is a $50.00 bag that I can get as well just called the EM539. It has 1/2 the padding, no pocket inside for the music rack holder, no pockets on the ends of the case and is made from a lighter nylon material. My rep says these are popular with the $200.00 variety keyboards but not recommended for the better and havier keyboards. So now you know the difference! And by the way, I can sell the same case as 8th street music for the same price, but I wouldn't recommend it now that I know it is 1/2 the padding.

I have had good success with the Kaces gig bags. I got mine for about $40. I don't think it's quite as good as the one George Kay sells. This bag has a little space length-wise to fit some extra things next to my keyboard. I keep my music stand under the keyboard because I don't care if the underside of the keyboard gets scratched. Next to the keyboard I keep a tupperware container that has my two sustain pedals, a/c adapter, my headset mic and cable. Next to that I keep my plastic floppy container that I velcro to the side of my keyboard when I perform. The Kaces bag has two zippered pockets for sheet music.
I've been pretty happy with this bag. I don't recall the exact size that goes with the PSR2000, but I'm sure you can find out with a bit of web searching.

It's good to know though that there are some great options for carrying around the PSR2000.
STay away from the Yamaha bag. It's flimsy and doesn't have enough space for accessories.
The bag George Kay sells sounds like the Rolls Royce of gig bags. I would go with that or the Kaces which I've been using for the last 2 1/2 years. Well, the first one wore out after 1 1/2 of heavy gigging.

Good luck,

Larry

George, thanks for your information. It seems to me that your $99 bag is the EM539DX. 8thStreet sells the "EM524 Gig Bag 61 Key Travel Bag fits most 61 key Keyboards" for $49.95, the "EM524DX Gig Bag 61 Key Deluxe Travel Bag fits most 61 key Keyboards" for $79.95, and the "EM539 Gig Bag 61 Key wide Travel Bag fits most 61 key wide Keyboards for $49.95. It seems that they are currently out of the EM539DX, but it looks like they would sell it for $79.95.

I have this case. It's perfect for the 2000. I would rather buy it from George, even if it costs a few bucks more. Think of all the free help he gives us.
