A question for George Kaye or anyone who is working with the new Korg:
How do the Yamaha styles (circa 3k, Tyros) sound when converted for use in the PA800? I know that inevitably some things suffer in the translation, but in considering this board there are a few Yamaha styles I can't live without. Wondering how much time I'd need to spend editing/tweaking the old faves.

Thanks in advance, and George, thanks for the great review.

Hi,

I've a Pa1X that anyway it's compatible with Pa800 (similar style format).

I've tried several conversion and I frankly believe that it's worth considering only if you have a strict amount of styles that you really need and would like to have.
Conversion is not painless, there are several issues involved, and anyway I'm not with those guys saying "I've 2000 styles converted from xxxx": 99% they sounds horrible. A lot of tweaking must be done in the keyboard like adapting drums, articulations, effects that are proprietary for each brand.
Don't get me wrong: it's a good experience, very formative, but there is some work to do, no question. At the end you will appreciate much more the style and find yourself "richer".

Hope this help.

Regards.
