I am planning to buy an in-ear monitoring system for me and my band (quartet).
Which system (Sennheiser, Shure.etc.) do you know and what are your experiences?
Any help is greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
Marc

Hi Marc,
Wish I could help, but I either use Hotspots or just run small in-ear headphones from the headphone out on the keyboard or mixer. Most of the people here do single or maybe duo acts, and monitoring is quite simple.
Many just use the on-board keyboard speakers for monitoring.

Hi Don,
I wonder on the 2000 if we'll me able to monitor with the onboard speakers? And drive a couple powered speakers at the same time?

I saw a KB musician,& singer on Tv using an inear monitoring MS the other day. He was using one in each ear. It looked good,it was hardly noticeable, except in close. But I myself would rather use a monitor speaker.
At this time I have an old 510 Yamaha I take my sound from the headphone output to amplify!
I have a monitor output on my power head.
I drive a small powered speaker back in my face. Works fine!
All the best,
Nobby

Marc,
The cheapest way to use 'in-ear-monitoring' :
Buy a couple of hi-Q earphones (discman alike), insert them into the phones-out of the mixingconsole.... c'est tout !!
(Total costs about 100 USD ?

The pro-systems however are wireless so they need a transmitter, a license, a battery-powered receiver for all musicians and aerplugs..... pretty expensive (2000 USD per unit ?)

I have used in-ear monitoring for years.
I would like to caution YOU: USE SOME SORT OF LIMITING DEVICE IF YOU PLAY LIVE!
If there is feedback, you can really damage
your ears.
I use the ,now dicontinued, "Boss LM-2" Limiter; so I run the PA monitor out to the LM-2 and to a Roland TM-3 headphone amp and
then to my headphones. I never got into
wireless and don't find it necessary since
I don't roam on stage.
Good luck.
