If you guys that do use your keyboard for sequencing, (and it looks like there aren't many of us) ever did it with a touch screen copying, pasting, deleting, and all the other functions and even for something as simple as naming your songs and files, all of the buttons to press to do these things would drive you nuts.

I get a type writer icon on the screen. Just type (touch the screen)for the name of the song or file or change the name of files etc.

Two years now and it ain't sticky with beer yet. Ha! Ha!. If they make a keyboard with at least as good a sequencer as mine with the sounds of the triton and a touch screen, I trade my forklift for one and I'm sure it is worth more than any arranger keyboard.

If you don't sequence on the keyboard I'll say it again, you just need what you like on a board to play live. To me nothing compares with the i30 for sequencing and the styles aren't too bad either. Not trying to ruffle any feathers just stating a fact. the i30 forum guys told me that 2 years ago and they are still right today.

JUst like all of you, I don't like the sax sounds on the i30 either. I don't like the sax sounds on any keyboard. I like the trumpets on the technics.

But for all of the sequencing I do, it's the i30 for me. And with the little few of us that use this feature on our keyboards, I don't think any manufacture is going to worry about pleasing us.

How much would it cost to copy a copy and paste feature from a computer software or whatever and put it on a keyboard.

No copy and paste feature on a keyboard that is supposed to do sequening is plain stupidity. Can you imagine a computer engineer building a keyboard with a sequencer and not figuring this out. It's mind boggeling isn't it?

I know my spelling and grammer is awful, but I'm smart enough to figure out that a sequencer is usless without a copy and paste measure, tracks and so on an so forth.

Wow!!Dave's right I'm babbling again. Am I the only one here not allowed to bable?

I like all of you guys even if we don't see eye to eye.

Let me know when it's time to pick a fight with Dave again.

Boo. Most keyboards today including the PSR2000, this uses Easy Record the same as your i30 BSQ.
As you have always liked KORG Treat yourself to a PA80 its only a little more than the 2000 and very well constructed.
Knocking up a song in BIAB takes 5 to 10 minutes. Just enter the chords and the program arranges the backing in seconds. Then save as a Midi File.

Nice to hear you are a true senior citizen now being retired.

Dnj - I do sing and play the keyboard live 50% or more of the time. The sax playing is an added feature that catches some by surprise and gets their attention.

Smf's are monotonous. They play the same identical way every time. Backing Sequence Mode on the i30 allows me to use most functions as if I were playing live so as to be able to change variations, intro's, endings, fills etc, etc etc, on the fly just like playing live. Can't do that with Midi files

Graham - I have maybe 10 or so tunes as Midi files from BIAB but there's no way to make them shine like the Korg styles. They make things interesting and make for more variety. However, there is no comparison between BIAB and any keyboard styles.

So far only Tony the Technics player seems to be surprised that some of the other keyboards won't copy and paste measures. He thought they all did this simple but very valuable feature for his and my needs. The point I'm trying to make here is that just about every keyboard has better styles than any computer software I've seen.

I have Jammer Pro also and I have maybe 20 or 30 tunes from it that I play through the keyboard as midi files to play my sax. But neither do they shine like any of the keyboard styles I've heard on any keyboard.

So, why don't they make the sequencer to copy and paste measures on all keyboards. You who do not sequence a bunch with your keyboards will never appreciate what we're talking about. And thats OK. I see I'm in the minority here.

Hey I'm a minority. Maybe I can get a Government loan and manufacture an arranger that can do copy and paste in the sequencer, with right hand chord recognition, rootless chord recognition, amd real sounding horns.
Oh yeah!! and a 38-24-38 blonde to sing backup and turn the sheet music for Fran and some of the other guys eh? Better make that a redhead for Dave, and a 6'2" for DonM.
