With the PSR550 discontinued and I would assume the PSR1100 and PSR2100 will also be discontinued, this leaves a huge gap in Yamaha's marketing strategy.
PSR172 $100
PSR273 $160
PSR292 $200
DGX200 $300
DXG300 $380
PSRK1 $400
PSR350 $350 - 400
PSR450 Unknown
DGX500 $550
Huge gap
PSR1500 $1170 educated guess
PSR3000 $1700 educated guess

For now the 2100 is still pretty new. They will most likely fill the gap soon.

Star,

First, the PSR550 is not discontinued in the US. Secondly, you left out the PSR450, PSRK1, EZ150 and EZ250i. And finally some of your prices look pretty low. If you know where I can get a DGX500 for $380.00, let me know, I want one!

Steve,
If it's not discontinued in the US can we hope for a newer model like a 560 any time soon?

Ops. . Made some corrections. I didn't want to list all of the product line. I assume the PSR450 will replace the PSR350. The reason I did this exercise is because the PSR550 IMO and the opinion of many others (including Squeak) is that the PSR550 is situated between the PSR350 and PSR1100. I thought it was discontinued as well, but can't relocate that post. This model IMO is the 1st serious instrument, with excellent voices, a much higher wave ROM, and great value for the money. It would be a loss, for me , if it were discontinued without a replacement. The PSR1500 might be out of my affordability range (we'll see), but a PSR560 or PSR600 would not.

With the 9000 Pro gone, a gap exists when you try to move to any pro-level 76-note Yamaha arranger. Also, no current arranger models accepts any of the PLG expansion cards (I assume those will continue in production as long as the Motif takes them). Since Yamaha seems determined not to make a Tyros Pro maybe they could make a "3000 Pro", with all the same features of the PSR3000 but with a 76-note keyboard and two PLG expansion card slots. I'd also like a hard drive option, an XLR mic input and a pair of LittLite plugs. Price it to fit the gap between the PSR3000 and the Tyros - I'd go for one of those PDQ! Pass that on for us Steve.

Steve, as the Pro has posted I would take one of those too.
If there not going to make something to replace the 9000 Pro.

But please Steve, tell Yamaha Japan if they decide to make a PSR 3000PRO to improve the Key Action and also make the internal speakers (61 Key version PSR???PRO) something to write home about. Yamaha has got to go beyond the 12Watt Speaker mentality and give us some speakers that will give new meaning to the term sonic excellence! I know you guys can do it, it's just making up their (Yamaha Japan's) mind and doing it.

PS: I realize that the 76 Key PRO version wouldn't and won't have internal speakers because of weight issues but I think Yamaha has some motivation now for making a 76 Key Pro Arranger and its 61 Key PRO counterpart now that Korg has stormed onto the scene with the Pa1X PRO and Pa1X. Regarding Korg - both are PRO Arrangers, both accept Expansion Cards, both have all the same PRO features (except speakers of course in the 61 Key version). So if Yamaha wants a piece of that pie it would be in their best interest IMO to answer in kind to Korg's offerings. And even upping them one by making Yamaha's new PRO Arrangers just that much better. Your customers will thank you and Yamaha will make a boat load of money in the process IMHO.

Best regards,
Mike
