Why would anyone want Wireless MIDI? Didn't that go out of favor a decade ago? Did it ever even work?
Ok, I have found a device that killed any skepticism I ever had about wireless MIDI. The Kenton Midistream is the best thing since my Yamaha CS-01 for getting out from behind my keyboard stand and mixing it up with the guitar players on the stage. I use a Yamaha WX-5 midisax wind controller and Roland AX-7 "strap-on" remote and with these battery powered remotes and a small transmitter I am completely free to roam the stage. The Kenton system has zero detectable latency and terrific transmission distance with NO midi errors! Also, there was no interference with the guitar and bass wireless systems of the rest of the band. The only drawback is that the unit currently uses only one frequency limiting its use to one controller at a time - but I can only play one at a time anyway, right?
Anyone else use this system or interested in discussing it? I love it!
