Is anybody using Behringer B300 powered speakers? They are rated at 300 watts, and about 50 Lbs.

I saw them for $300 apiece, which seems like a good price for new factory sealed ones.

The question is how do they sound and compare to similarly spec'ed ones from Mackie, JBL, EV?

Thanks,
Alex

I would not consider behringer to be a major player in the studio monitor area .

KRK's are recommended . M audio has some nice monitors at an affordable price .

MSP5's and BX8's are worth looking out .

BTW .....are you using this with computer application or hard disk recorder ?

The Behringer B300's are not near field monitor speakers but rather powered PA speakers like the Mackie SRM450 and the Yamaha MS300's. I sell Behringer speakers and mixers in my store and they offer a lot of bang for the buck.
They also make a pair of near field monitors called "Truth" and these are amazing for the price. They have been rated right along with the $1000.00 Mackies but these retail for $499.00 and sell for $399.00 a pair. They are bi-amped and have 175 watts to the woofer and 50 watts to the tweeter. I tried these out at NAMM and bought 6 pairs for my store. I was very impressed. They also came out with a powered mixer with 9 mic pre's plus 2 more stereo 1/4" channels, 250 watts rms per channel stereo powered mixer and 99 different effects for a Retail price of $379.00. That's a great value.

I have a three Behringer mics, and a small mixer. They are all excellent. I heard the B300s recently and they were very impressive. A little heavy though, 50+ pounds.
