Gang-

I was just hired to perform at the 2007 Ohio Swiss Festival next September. The client describes this as a HUGE DEAL and says that I will be SMACK DAB in Amish Country.

Cool...

I'm wondering if there might be 1-2 particular traditional Swiss songs that I might perform that night. The client didn't ask me do to this-but it might go over well if at some point that night I played some old song from the homeland that maybe a few remember Mom/Dad/Grandparents, etc...singing to them way back when. If nothing else, I've found the audience is usually very pleased that the entertainer took the time and trouble to prepare something like this.

Are there such songs?

Thanks!

Actually, as to whether you play original Swiss music or not, the Swiss are very neutral .... I KNOW, I KNOW ... THESE JOKES ARE REALLY CHEESEY ...I'LL STOP !!!

You looking to eliminate some 'competition', Steve ??? ...

Bill ... I'm sure it would be open and CLOSE !!! ...

Speaking seriously, I would think a couple of instrumental folk dance tunes would go over well ... and is it going to be an Amish audience? .. you may want to double check the lyrics of the songs you are planning to sing ... never know what might be offensive ...
