If I load a disk with sequenced songs on it into my computer, how can I play them out of my computer speakers, so I can play the music on my accoustic piano with the backing playing through my computer. Is there something special that I have to buy to play whats on my disk, or can it be downloaded free? When I put my disk in my computer, and go to the floppy disk menu in MY COMPUTER, it has icons in it with the names of the songs on the disk. I have winamp, and there is an icon for each song with the winamp logo on it. When I click on it, it doesn't play.
The sequencing was done on a Technics PR702.
Thanks
Paddy

Paddy1nz. When you save a sequence out of your Technics PR702. you must to save as a Midi File NOT as Technics mode which only plays back when reloaded into the PR702. Saving As Midi File will enable you to play the file back on your PC.

For playing back Midi File on the PC I suggest you download the Demo versions of either.
YAMAHA XG50 or ROLAND VCS88. Both these are softsynths and will make a better sound than the standard PC sound card samples.

Paddy. Your PC will not read a Technics Sequence file,
A local friend has a PR903 so I am quoting from memory.
1. Load your sequence back into your PR.
2. In the PR save option there is a choice of Technics or General Midi (GM).
3. Chose GM and save to floppy. The saved file should have an extension .mid
This will now be recognised by any sequencing software on your PC.
