JBL eon10G2. Hands down. The EV sx100a is about on par with the barbetta, but the JBL is sweet.

Hi all, I discovered (by pleasant surprise) Rintincop also lives in the San Francisco Bay area . He told me he auditioned the Bose PAS firsthand at our local GC store, with the PAS hooked up to a Yamaha Digital Piano (playing a 'stereo sampled' acoustic grand piano voice patch) and experienced the same (but to a lesser extent) phase cancellation problems he had heard when going out mono from Yamaha's stereo sampled keyboard voices to other single (mono) PA powered speakers: JBL, EV, etc.

Rintincop, I was hoping you could elabarate here on your findings. Just 'how much' less phase cancellation degradation goes on thru the Bose PAS compared to other single mono powered PA speakers: JBL Eon, EV SXA100, etc? Is the sound degradation within acceptable pro performance limits? Rintincop, realizing that your primary consideration of the Bose PAS is for playing exposed acoustic (stereo sampled) piano in a small combo setting, do you recommend the Bose PAS? Thanks - Scott

I think you can compensate for whatever frequencies are affected by using the EQ on the remote control. If it's being used loudy, then there is no trouble with mono .... the air will force it to all corners of the room. If it's quieter, then the kb speakers ( if you got 'em! ) will progect a stereo image in the neqr vacinity to the performer. It will enhance the signal coming from the Bose and make a very full package.
Everyone .. stop READING, and go PLAY this speaker system!!!!!!!!!!! Forget anything you read about it (even by ME!)..... and go EXPERIENCE what it can do.
I had mine in a room full of mirrored walls tonight - no feedback, and even clearer "sizzle" .... it wqs really great. The best sound so far, since I got it. It sounded like I had headphones on all night. It was THAT present in my vantage point.
