Today I will start connecting my studio. I received my new 300GB hard drive today and will install a fresh new Windows Server 2003 OS in my DAW. I also have to connect it all with good quality cables for high quality recordings. I need 16 x 1/4" TRS servo-balanced cables and 16 x MIDI cables. I also need 4 x XLR Mic balanced cables.
In terms of quality/price ratio, what are the best choices when it comes to these three cable types? What are your experiences with how long these cables should be in a home recording studio? What would you buy?
