So I can not just take a hard drive out of the original Tyros and then install it in the T2 and have the files and styles and voices work?

If I want to 'record' I'll need a new drive, right?

Does it have Firewire so I could use a small external drive?

What's the cheapest way to add a little storage?

No, you can use your Tyros 1 drive. That's what I did. I took it out of the Tyros 1, installed it in the Tyros 2, and everything worked. And you can record audio on it too. Chony.

I did the same it and all the styles work fine.

I just bought my hard drive. It is a 60 Mg Samsung HDSAMPO603H at $81.95 USD from Axiontech.com
in Texas.
I just bought the 1 GB of memory at mwav.com.
It is Kingston Value ram KVR-133X72C3/512. they are 512 Mb each so you need two for 1 GB.
the cost was 162.00 for the pair and the company is in southern california.

Scott Yee also a member here, a friend and neighbor reccomended these as he had installed them in his Ty2. He also had theTY 1 and Technics boards before that.
