Opened up my beloved Tyros today to install one of Vince's finest IBM harddrives. I was rather amazed to find the cover for accessing the harddrive quite large. The harddrive only occupies a small area, it appears there is space to accept some form of expansion card at a later date. I took a photo to illustrate what I mean, though not sure if its going to display in this message! If it doesnt its in the photos section of the Tyrosworld discussion group. There are two small high density connectors on the main board which could accept some form of expansion or add in component.

Simon,
Just a few days old and you are already performing major operations to the board. I am amazed you wasted no time with improvements. You’re quite a guy. Any problems with the drive?... and how is Tyros performing?

That may be cool news.....it's not quite as pretty with it's "clothes" off.....but then again, who is?

Thanks for the flick,
Terry

Fran,
They must be pre heading south age bracket....I'm not allowed to look at them anymore after 29 years of marriage....that is if I know what's good for me.

DanO....so that's what a mega guitar looks like huh? I was wondering...guys got to have tiny fingers to play that.

The circuitry is pretty state of the art, higher density than I've seen on most computers. The Harddrive performs great and with Tyros's new file and folders type OS, it really integrates well into the architecture of the system i.e. almost transparent when you change banks to those on disk. The Tyros actually reads harddisk partitions also, but cannot partition a drive so you need to partition and format the drive either on a 9000/9000 pro or using a PC. The USB interface and file manager software also works well, albeit slightly slower than a network.
