> Hi All,
I had been planning on buying another memory stick for back up for my psr1500 , but hadn't quite gotten round to it.
I decided to do the following instead using a memory card reader.
I've attached my reader using a male to female usb extension cable. Reason for doing so was that I can easily unplug the reader from the usb cable itself, instead of having to plug & unplug it from the back of the keyboard. Also means I can plug my usb floppy into the cable instead of the back of the keyboard.

Riki,

If the keyboard never leaves the house, your system will work just fine. However, when you are playing out, the best thing I've found is to use the USB drive to transfer files to the Smart Media Card and access the needed files from the SM card just as if it were a hard drive. I use the USB Thumb Drive as a transfer and backup device so I'm covered if the SM card were to fail.

Cheers,

Gary

Hi Gary
thanks. Mine doesn't leave home.
Actually what I discovered was that I can use multiple cards at the same time & have instant access to all of them.
I've ended up with a USB 1 , 2 & 3.

I'm finding it easier to put songs on 1 card, multipads on another & styles on the third. Less confusion having song folders mixed in with multipad & style folders..

I think the same thing may actually work using a usb hub & multiple flash drives ( I assume that's the same thing as a thumb drive??)
Didn't realize the usb was so versatile on the psr's.

For work I suppose you'd probably have a different setup to what one would have at home.

thanks Gary

best wishes
