Hello,
I have a problem about posting in SZ BBS
When I reply to a topic, the BBS increases the replies counter but my reply doesn't appear in the thread and so do all replies after mine.
I cleared the browser's cache, and deleted cookies but my reply still doesn't appear.
I was wondering if you could tell me what's wrong? Is this some kind of restriction?
I am using both IE 6.0 SP2 and Firefox 1.7.6. The same problem with both browsers.
Regards,
George

I haven't ever seen that problem myself so really can't suggest what it may be. I know you cleared your broswer cache though I would have supsected that was the problem. Do you ever eventually see your replies show up , like when you look a few days or a week later?

Eddie...after you make your post and go to the subject line to click to bring you back to the topics page, go to refresh and click,
you will then be included into the count and your post will be displayed...think of it as a delayed reaction....it has nothing to do with the cookies.....

Nigel
I just tried twice to send you a private mail to your mail address which appears in your profile, without success. Each time it comes up "not sent etc." Is this your mail address at fault or is it my setup which needs a check?
cheers

Hello Nigel,
I noticed there are 3 replies to my topic. When I opened the topic only my post appeared. After I'd clicked on 'Reply to this topic' I was able to read your reply (and Tony Rome's). I am going to try what Tony Rome suggested.
Regards,
George

Hi, Eddie. Not sure why it would be doing that. The email address is fine and I just tested it now by sending an email to myself and it came through OK.

Give it another try and see if it still happens. Though I have a similar problem with a friend who I can email fine from home but not from work. So it seems to be something to do with the mail server you are sending email through. Still not sure why there is a problem though. Let me know how you go on the next retry.

Eddie, if you were emailing me a couple of days ago when the server was going down then that would explain why the email didn't make it. Nothing on the server was working correctly at the time.

The connection to the server has failed. Account: 'mail.plus.net', Server: 'localhost', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 7362, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10061, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E

I tried again but got the above familiar message!
The mail I was trying to send you is possibly now surplus to requirements, so don't worry about the message, perhaps just consider the impact of not being able to receive mail on the address you have.
cheers
Eddie
LATER EDIT: It looks as if it's my own OE6 which is not working properly. I tried to send myself a mail and got the same fault!
So please accept my apologies for calling your address into question
