Anyone interested ? We want to swap a Roland G-1000 with the Yamaha PSR2100 with the addition of only $100. We pay shipping to you and and you pay shipping to us.

As you know Roland G-1000 was a flagship Roland Arranger with 76 keys, zip drive (like a hard drive) and tons of features. See link below:
http://www.rolandus.com/products/details.asp?catid=8&subcatid=39&prodid=G-1000

Let me know if you're interested.

My email address is lukitoh@hotmail.com

The G1000 does not have the newer samples that the 2100 has. It does not have the terrific Yamaha mixer/effexts section and mic input. No speakers.....much larger and heavier .... the differences are huge.
They are both very good in certain areas, but they are apples and oranges in most.

As a stay at home controller ... the G1000 works just great, but I could never use on on stage in my situations - pro or not. I need more at my fingertips, that's all.

but arent you using your digitech for gigs?or are you using 3k's harmonizer(i think you said it(3k's) can't be used for your vocal style/technique)?

I caved into the ease of transportation issue. By using the on board ( substandard) harmonizer, I am now able to leave one more piece of gear at home. I'm forcing myself to adjust to the left hand harmonies, but it's a real chore when I play manual bass.
Sigh ...... it's a serious compomise, but right now - time is of the essence. At least the EQ and effects sound great......even if that nasty hiss is ever present.
BTW - the hiss comes from the mic input, not the panel voices. It's livable, but noticable. You can't have it all, so I'm living with less. Someday I may go back just for sonic reasons, but for now, the setup is paramount to the deal. I need easy. I need fast. I have both.

dave,
when i had my 2100, i could set the vocal
harmony to respond to the right hand only. does the 3000 have this feature? this would make your harmony singing a little easier.
regards

When the hamony is set to the RH, it only defaults to VOCODER mode, meaning that you need to PUSH A KEY to get THAT harmony. If you release the key, the harmony stops. Try playing a slow 50 ballad like "Earth Angel" with triplet 8ths in the right hand and see what the vocal does. It'll make you nuts!

Since I play my own bass lines a lot, I need to be able to trigger a CHORDAL mode for the harmonies, so they just respond to the chord and not the individual notes.

I'm doing without that important trademark in my sound right now, but I miss it.

Just fyi:

I saw at Pre-Pal website which listed used keyboards average prices

Roland G-1000 $1070.00
Yamaha PSR-2100 is probably around $750 maybe. I bought my PSR-2000 for about $600 and that was a year or so ago.

So, this is actually a good trade with the other party came out with $300 extra value !
