Some background - I'm a novice using a PSR 2100 (which I love) with minimum vocals.
I did my FIRST ever solo concert in a small venue holding 100 - my numbers were at 70.
I use a Behringer UB802 Eurorack 8 Input Mixer and hooked up my
Yamaha YST MS50 & Logitech Z-2300 speakers

The day before I rented the New Bose PS system only to return it as "i didnt like the flat commercial sound" - BIG MISTAKE.

After only 1/2 performing i blew the Z-2300 yes the Logitech speakers - and guess what - the Yamaha YST MS50's carried me the rest of the evening - I now plan to use them exclusively as personal monitors.

Let me just say - I didn't really appreciate that what i classify as a commercial sound is basically "flat" and the is greatly depends on the instrument/mixer for quality and tone.

I'm now seriously considering the Yamaha STAGEPAS300 (through the Berringer UB802 mixer) with the Yamaha YST MS50's as my personal monitors (e.g. facing me).

Any thoughts, suggestions etc would be appreciated.

What EQ presets were you using with the PAS?

Pre-set Keyboard setting on "pop"
POPS
0.7 / 125Hz / 4
2.0 / 315Hz / -4
0.7 / 1.0kHz / 3
2.0 / 2.0kHz / -4
0.7 / 5.0kHz / 6

on the 2100...Try EQ 2-2-0-3-7 save it to user 1

BTW...I was asking about the EQ on the PAs you rented...
