Do any of you folks do any reggae tunes? If so what are a couple of popular ones to learn?

Any of you do Lay Down Sally? Is so on a Yamaha what style do you use?

I don't usually play Reggae although I listen to it and possibly add to my repertoire also.

My limited knowledge:

Falling in love with you- UB40
Red Red Wine- UB40
No Woman No Cry- Ziggy Marley(??)
Do You Really Want To Hurt Me- Culture Club
Anything from Aaron Neville band?

I think that UB40 were quite inspirational in that they took the most unlikely songs (at least their covers) and gave them the reggae treatment. If you have a particular fave song, just try it out with a reggae style and it is surprising how a standard can become new and fresh.

I love to rearrange songs with styles they are not normally associated with. It's great fun. SOmetimes the result is awful but sometimes you get a real surpise!

As for tunes ASWAD were quite popular over here a short while ago. Anything by them! Also anything by Boy George / Culture Club as the reggae beat was prevelant in all their stuff.

Also Tom, you may like to learn 'I Want To Wake Up With You' as sung by Boris Gardner. That's one I love to sing.
