I have converted a whole bunch of files to "Panel Plus XG" on the computer with Midi Player and when I have attemped to load them onto my thum drive the message "Cannot copy; The directory or file cannot be created"
Is There any way to overcome this problem.
I use the files on my PSR3000.

Do you get this message from MidiPlayer or Windows?

Can you copy the files using Windows Explorer?

(I will be out of town until Tuesday and will not see your response until then)

Regards,

Michael

Ken,

Right click one of the files that will not copy , then click properties. Make sure the box that says archive is checked and not the read-only box. This may be your problem.

Thank you all for your responses.
It has turned out to be a thum drive problem
which was fixed by reformating it.
Windows message was to ambiguos.

Ken,

Make sure the thumb drive is formatted to FAT--not FAT32. The keyboard will only read FAT format, but the computer will read both.

Format new media using the keyboard.

I have another Thum Drive and it is accepting about 200 midi files then showing the message above. According to "Properties" there is much more room on the drive.
It is a 256MB drive.
Could my problem be one of partitioning and how could I fix this.

Ken,

The drives will only hold a specific number of root directory files when used with the keyboard. I'm not sure how many they'll hold when used only with the PC. If you place things in folders, you can then fill those folders, and even place folders within folders and the keyboard's registration system can find them. The same is true with midi files.

Good Luck,

Gary
