1. Are the correct music finder names available for the S900 and Tyros 2? Can they be imported/changed in the board.

(Some of my top songs have come from those templates - simply awesome)

2. Does the T2 have the audio recording feature, as in the S900?

3. What is the difference between the text feature in the T2 and S900.

Right now, leaning towards the 900 due to weight (please refrain) and speakers.

speaking of the Tyros 2, the answer to the first two questions is "Yes". I don't know about the S900 and about the text feature since I have never used it.

Dreamers answer didn't mention that the T2 audio records to an internal HD that you must add as an option at additional cost and does not record to an usb device like the s-900.
That said, the music finder does have a corrected version for 900 as well. And I think the 2 boards treat text files exactly the same. But that's just an educated guess from things I've read from Scott Yee

Correct music finder database is available for S900. If you are an S900 owner and cannot find the link, post here, and I will supply it.

Text feature sounds like the same. The Tyros 2 probably can fit more characters on the screen. On the PSR-S900, you can choose on the keyboard courier font 11pt, 16pt, and 20pt or Times New Roman at 9pt, 12pt and 16pt. By default, courier 16pt comes up no matter what. Once you scroll to the one you like most during a performance, the rest of the time that preference will come up the next times that you press the text/lyric button.

You'll want the courier font if you want your typed chord changes to line up with the lyrics.

Jim: Excellent point In addition, Tyros2 recorded files must go thru an extra step (exported to the stick as WAV file) b4 transfering to PC. I do recall reading (though not positive) though that T2's audio recorder includes some aditional audio rec features not included in the S900's audio recorder. Perhaps someone can look into this.

Also, in regard to txt files, I've sent you a reg bank file, associated styles, & text files called up from USB stick. Let me know if it works on your S900. The T2 looks at reg stick as drive L. If The S900 has it's fixed USB port assigned as drive "L" as well, then I think it will work. If not, you can use this program to re-assign drive letter to what the S900 see's the USB stick as:
Tyros REG Memory Editor

The other thing is that Tyros2 viewable text files in 'fixed 16' mode support a maximum of 63 characters per line, and 18 lines per page. Don't know if the S900 text file parameters (character & # of lines/page length) is the same or not. Jim, Please report back after trying the files I sent you.

No transpose in MFD. Also, the Music Finder will only look at preset and user styles - not styles on the USB.
