I wish it were, but it's still rearing it's tasteless head now and then. In the past week I've done, as requested, "Shake Your Booty", "Long Train Running", "Play That Funky Music White Boy", "Y.M.C.A.", "Sharing the Night Together", "Harlem Shuffle", even the Stone's closest thing to Disco, "Miss You" do, do, doodoo, do, do, dooo.
They aren't all exactly Disco, but close enough. At least no one is requesting Macarana anymore!
Whatever brings joy to the masses, huh?

Don,

I felt the same way about disco, when disco was 'the thing' ... but my feelings have mellowed towards it and I really don't know why.

Its the same for me with TV.
I really enjoy watching the old television series better than anything currently being produced.

I guess i'm just getting older and more grumpy.

I think Disco was a melodic break from the music of the late 60's ... AND people DANCED with each other ... it was great to see COUPLES on the floor ... and BARRY WHITE !!! ... ENOUGH SAID !!!
t.
PS ... and since those 70's tunes keep gatting requested, I guess it AIN'T dead !!!

It ain't dead by a long shot--that's why we still get loads of requests for YMCA and similar songs.

Cheers,

Gary

It ain't dead where I'm at either. I get lots of requests for the standard disco fare.
