Glenn, just curious why an SD5 over the PA800?
I'm considering a new board and am looking at all possibilites.
Thx

Well, that's not for sure yet, but I saw the SD5 demod earlier this year by AJ, and was very much impressed with it's sounds, styles, and new features. I play the SD1 now and don't really think I'd want to live without the Ketron drums, just love 'em.

My choir gave me a $150 gift card to Guitar Center - wow! And I also got some good CDs: Chicago, Beatles (Love), Tony Bennett and Bonnie Raitt. Lastly, a few warm polo shirts and a heated seat for my car - it's gonna get real cold in Michigan real soon.

I gave the church an Allen organ to put up front near the sanctuary - kind of a give and get for me.

Cassp, I wouldn't leave home without my heated car seat and Rock N Roller.

Cheers,

Glenn is one of the coolest, layed back members of SZ I have met. I just can't imagine him in the hot seat.

Kind regards,

Didn't know they were available yet. Where did you order this from? US? How much? Are you ordering it unheard?

Esh,

It has been available in Europe since the beginning of December. I have ordered mine here for €549. I understand that it should be availble in the US early next year.

No, I have not heard it, but the sound engine should be same as in the Promega 3 and PRP700/800. As you know these models have very realistic piano voices that are based on physical modelling instead of the usual velocity switching. My only worry is that I have previously had a GEM WK2 arranger module which had very noisy audio outputs. I hope this will not be the case with the RP-X.

Kind regards,
Tommy

If anyone is interested in knowing more about the new GEM piano module there are some great videos here . In the videos David McMahan (Synthzone memeber WDMcM) demonstrates the PRP-800 which have the same sound engine as the RP-X.

Kind regards,
Tommy
