I heard good things about the Zoom MSR4 digital recorder.

How about the Korg PXR4 and the Fostex MR8?
Any input will be appreciated as usual.
thanks Boo

Boo,
Have you looked at the Tascam PocketStudio 5..??? It's a neat little recorder,, It records in MP-3 format and it even has a general midi tone module built in to play mid files. It's a nice little recorder.

Squeak I have a Musiciansfriend and American Musis catalog. I havn't noticed that unit. I'll look it up on the net now.

Donny one important thing I want is for the manual to be useable. I went through the i30 and the manual is useless for a biginner. I learned the i30 from a gent in Austrailia via email and the i30 forum.

Sometimes it was a nightmare. He was sleeping while I was awake. One of you guys could probably figure it out without the manual but not a greenhorn.

I can't buy what you and UD use, because I will drive you guys nuts as Dave says. I want to get what someone else here owns and drive them nuts. Maybe squeak or someone else. I may have squeak nuts by the time I buy.

Boo,

Most Zoom digital recorders which I use {1044cd] has Acrobat manuals online you can read. They are very easy and pretty much step by step...even for beginners.

Boo,
Dnj is right.. Zooms manuals are so easy to understand. The manual to the MRS-4 is easy to read.. I have not been stumped by anything in that manual. As stated you can even check out Zooms manual in PDF.. I've looked at the manual for the MRE-1044, and I don't think it's hard to understand at all.. You're not driving me nuts with questions either.. I like helping people out with gear.. I still have that in me from managing a music store. I'd get back into it, but no one around here will pay well enough.

Dan,

I'm the hardest shopper on this forum. I'm retired. I work part-time just to have something to do. To a point I enjoy looking at and learning new stuff.

Brand new at American Music Supply free shipping new warranty $499 for the 1044. All this new tecnology today cost $XXXX today and next week it sells for half that and used it ain't worth a very much. That is why I shop hard because after I buy it, it ain't worth much.

There are people on ebay trying to get $750 for used Mackie 808S. There's places on the net that have them brand new with warranty for between $700 and $723 that they offered to me.
