Team, I am willing to SWAP/change my KORG PA_80 for a TECHNICS KN6000. Anyone interested in this or am I asking too much? If true, kindly let me know what would be fair? AJ

AJ,
What don't you like about the PA-80? Just curious because I chose the Yamaha PSR2000(currently on order) over the PA-80, but just wanted to know what your thoughts were about that model. Thanks.

AJ Hmmm.... trade a $1700 keyboard for a $3500 keyboard? I'd like that, too! Seriously, I'd love to have a KN6500, but they are too expensive. I don't know WHO would trade one in for a pa80 which is much cheaper. Tom

Yieks! OK, looks like I bit more than I could chew. What would a USED KN6000 be going for these days? In that way, I could trade in the PA80 PLUS some $$ to get a KN6000. I'll get the expansion boards later, maybe ???

Cam8neel,
I realized that although the PA80 does have the TRITON sound engine (terrific sounds indeed ...) the Arranger does not appeal to me. Chord transfer/changes are not rapidly recognised for some styles. After having a KETRON SD1, it's hard for me to get a 2nd board that will do equally well. I had played on a TECHNICS KN6000 a while ago and I liked this board indeed ... true to earth sounds and the arranger was just great. Like you, I might end up 'trading down' for a PSR2000 (a dressed-down PSR9000 @ 1/2 the cost!)
Hey Ketron, there is a new kn6500 on Ebay, starting at $2295, that is about the range now. The 6500 does have a better sound than the 6000. Why don't you wait until version 3.0 for the pa80 arrives, mid November? It's supposed to have some great new features, but we'll see. I have both boards and sure wouldnt' give up my 6500. Good Luck.
Hey Ketron, I wouldn't go much more than about $1200 or $1300 for a 5000. There is one on E-bay right now and the bid is around $650, with less than a day to go, if it doesn't sell, maybe you can deal with this guy. Good luck.

Ketron, if you could swing the bucks, I'd go for the 6500. I had the 6000 and there's a world of difference (to me) favoring the 6500. I'm not sure that a 6000 with the expansion boards would still be the same.
