Hi everyone, although I haven't posted in a while, I've been reading the posts...
What are the ways to convert cd music to midi?
I tried a utility called "widi" but It didn't pick up on the nuances and simply didn't sound good. Did anyone here try anything like that? Perhaps following the file conversion I would need to process the midi file through another utility to mute out some channels?
All the advice would be greatly appreciated.

I would say this is not possible to do CD to MIDI....I am very interested if someone can state I am wrong.
There is a program that can convert a .wav to .mid but only a single track not multiple tracks.

Grahma,
You're right single tracks can be converted, but not several tracks as a stereo file and then somehow seperated into single midi tracks to my knowledge either. There are things that will remove vocals and leave the stereo music track but that;s about it.

then the conversion of even a single wav>midi is fair at best.

All the software I have seen that tries to convert does a poor job at best. It would be an incridible piece of software to do this.. Plus it would put a lot of people out of work. Honestly, I can't see how it is possible... but I bet they use to say that about going to the moon.

And robots. This subject comes up quite often because of the incredable ramifications. Believe me, it will be here much sooner than we think, even tho it's not possible! ;-)
