Whats the state-of-play regarding compatability (or not) of USB Storage devices with the PSR3k / 1.5k?

I'm still saving for my 3k but the purchase after that is likely to be a 512 megabyte Usb solid-state storage device (Lexar?)

I don't understand your question.

Oh!

I was trying to be brief and succinct!

The PSR3000 and PSR1500 have USB "Host" capability, and I understand that you can plug various USB devices into this port, included solid-state memory devices.

Before the forums' recent hard disc problem there were some postings regarding the use of such devices; some people had no problems whilst others were not so lucky.

So I would be interested to know how successful all you people have been regarding the use of USB Storage devices, so that I can come to some sort of decision regarding the safe maximum capacity of any such devices, and also whether any particular brand is better or worse than any other. I am especially interested in the use of 512 megabyte capacity devices, and wonder if "Lexar" are a reliable brand.

I hope that's a better explanation!

I understand now!

Sorry but I can't help you because I haven't a PSR 3000... I'm sure any owner of a PSR3000 will help you.

I don't believe the capacity of the drive makes any difference to the keyboard. I know Hank The Lurker's 3000 works great with his 128m drive.
I'm sure Gary D. will answer, but I think he just purchased a larger drive, either 256 or 512.
My experience with Lexar has all been good.

Absolutely the most fantastic breakthrough in keyboards in two decades. No problems with both a 128 and 256-meg thumb drive, instant access to thousands of styles, voices, registrations or midis and the price of the drive is downright cheap. The 3000 also has been an amazing keyboard and has an outstanding operating system that is very user friendly.

Yes, I think it's really a great feature!...
On my SD1 all the stuff is on the Harddrive, so whenever I want to make a backup of everything I have to use floppy discs (but that's not reliable) or connect the keyboard to the computer and make a direct copy. I wish my SD1 could support USB!

I have a PNY attache 128 mb and it works great.
Just got my 3000 this weekend haven't had enough time to play with it but I did use the flash drive just to see how that would work.

I have a 128 mb Pen drive. Quick and easy to store and transfer styles, mids and registrations.
