Hi all,
Hope you are all well.
Well I have been a bit busy lately and now am finally finding time to delve more into my qy100 and have hit my first snag.

I have been trying to record any smf from my cakewalk into the qy using the "multi" record method.
After following all the instructions I can find in my manual etc,and recording the midi file, when I attempt to play back the song it appears as if only one measure records.

Do I need to set song length somewhere before recording? I have not seen this mentioned anywhere and wouldn't know how to go about it due to it's not being mentioned anywhere.

If anyone is familiar with this situation please advise me on what I need to do.
Your help is appreciated.

Oh yeah, I forgot to ask. If anyone knows of older threads/forums/web sites where info on the qy can be found that would also be appreciated.

Whatever I can find elsewhere would save you guys time answering my newby questions. I really do not want to take up time that you could otherwise be using having fun with your toys but so far I have not had a great deal of success with simple searches.

Hi,
maybe this yahoo group may be able to help you.
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/QY70/

I owned a QY10, 20, 700 but far too long ago for me to remember how they worked.
best wishes
Rikki

QY100 only reads and loads type 0 midi files. It will play type 1 if midied from another source, but will only accept type 0 into memory.

Thank you, for the link and the info.

I have successfully recorded a smf into the qy, but I had to do it different than how the manual described it.
Rather than external sync I used internal sync and started the recording manually on the qy immediately after starting the file playing with cakewalk.
Don't know if this will work all the time or not. I am sure I will encounter a lot of snags so any links will be a help.

Thank you again,

Hi,
not the best of ways to do it. Unfortunately I'm far too rusty on the Qy's, it's been over 10 years since I had the QY10,20 and my QY700 from memory, actually loaded midifiles from it's internal disk drive.

If you don't manage to get any help from the group, fiddle round with the settings.

Good luck
best wishes
Rikki
