Ok ...it's Tuesday . My day off ! I can take time to record (Tascam 788) and screw around with the SD1 .
Today I used vocal drum kits to overdub a track or two on one song . I have mentioned in the past that the VOCAL DRUM KITS ( 3 in all) on the SD1 are very unique . They can substitute for any drum part of any style and can be used with style edits (drum parts) . Naturally these edits are saved directly on the hard drive ( no registrations) . So....what I discovered today is that it's really cool to overdub a track just playing the vocal drum kits in real time ! The recording sounds very interesting ! Difficult to discribe in writing ! Take 6 ?
I encourage SD1 owners to dig into the vocal drum kits ! You nay also want to try vocal kits on the acidjazz styles .
NOW .........onto something else .
Using the after touch and portamento features with a synth lead sound !
Turn on aftertouch and portamento buttons ( you can edit these features) .
Sawlead is the one I used . play a d note and hold it , than play the d note 2 octaves above . The notes will sound like you used a pithbend with effects ! .... If you can achieve a few runs you will hear some really cool synth stuff ! The sound is very cool !
Since you can add a 2nd voice in real time it can get even better . Assign the same voice to the 2nd voice feature but at an octave lower . When using portamento and aftertouch with dual voice .........IT's VERY COOL ! TRY it SD1 owners ..........hope it makes the keyboard more fun !
Some other cool applications things .....
Have you noticed that ever time you choose a midi file the vocal setting always returned to 01 (3part) . I never use setting 01 . I do use 02,03,04 . I use the unison setting mostly when using a midi sequence . So I would get pissed an say " damn , I want it to be 04 everytime I used a midi sequence " !!!
WELL ...I found a solution .
I SET 01 to be UNISON ! It brings a smile to my face *~* ! Now all vocal settings are now in order ! I do not use 05,06 etc .....just never needed to . PERFECT for my settings ! ENJOY SD1 owners ..........dano/ketronguy

I do not use registrations at all .
If I play a sequence I use 01 unison .
Setting 02 is for right hand . Let me give you an example . Ramblin Man is the example .
I use setting 02 for right hand . I play the chords and sing the harmony's .
If I release my chord , I have solo voice .
If I need unison I can change the setting to 01 with a footswitch or by hand hand .
All I need are 3 settings ( for my needs) . One for sequences , One for Styles and one Setting that allows me to play the chords and harmonize via my chord structure ! dano

Yes Dan I have adj. the guitar settings you told us about....Very Nice ( The guitar strums on the SD1 are very good indeed)
I would like to tell of one of my "new" uses! I recently traded my 6 Sw Foot pedal board fo a 13. I have started using the "Slide" function. This is great for Blues/Rock Guitar and Trombone!!!
Thanks again DAN!
