I need a solution to what I think is a design glitch(for me anyway) on the Tyros2, I tend to segue a lot of my performance material during an evening, playing up to 3 hours non-stop, going from one style to another with no pause.
This requires the need to move from one registration folder to another at random and picking the appropriate style within that folder for the next song….my problem is that I have to move from folder to folder while still playing with the left hand and then hit the edit button to ensure I hit the right style from one of the bank of eight within the chosen folder…unfortunately the button to view the reg titles within the folders (Edit) is only 1/2 inch away from the registration 8 button and is prone to accidentally being hit while performing.

This is a disastrous situation for me as it means that I will be bringing in unwanted styles if I hit the registration 8 button, on a test run I hit it 2 times out of 10 in a 'darkened stage' situation, if you multiply the chances over a 3 hour gig it can become quite a problem.

Can anyone suggest a solution and has anyone also noticed the problem, a foot pedal to go thorugh a reg sequence would not work as I pick styles at random.

I have the same problem, I thought at first it was neat to have the reg buttons in the middle of the board, but keep getting my fingers on them when not paying close attention, I figure a couple of times of switching from a waltz to a screaming rock guitar, while the dancers are dancing will probably cure me of not paying close attention.. I'm still learning how to run the ty2, and at this point I'm very dissapointed with the registration operation compared to my old board.

Only thing I can think of is maybe leave the 8 buttons empty for awhile until you get use to it....pose

I think I've found my own solution and perhaps it might work for you 'loungelyzard'...instead of having 8 registrations per folder make each folder 1 style registration with 8 variations. so when you click on the 2 registration buttons all the song titles are visible immediatley without the need to open up edit.

Gonna give this a go, if it does not work to well then I think I'll go for a Ketron SD1 instead.

Have you considered the registration sequence function? No hands to change the registration at all. It's not for everyone, but it may be for you...

Get a bright yellow stick on tag (they are usually round and used to price items)from the stationary store, cut it to fit and stick it on the top of the button of your choice. It will show up in a dimly lit situation and guide you easily. This has mostly solved my "wrong button push" problems.

Problem solved...I sold my T2 after 2 weeks and lost £350...the sound was fantastic but I just could not get used to the sluggish display and the relocated registration button's...but I will miss the great guitars and saxes etc.

Still think the PSR3000 is still a great keyboard and it will remain my main working tool unitl perhaps the 3000's replacment comes out, and then I am really going to make sure it suits my performance needs before buying.

Many appologies to all Tyros 2 fans but the demands I put on it showed it's weak points, most players would and do find it perfect.
