I don't know the numbers for arrangers, but I do have some for some synths. I think originally 500 Karma were made and maybe 20,000 have been sold to date. Clavia brags that 17,000 Nord Electro were sold (and this may have been total for two models). Blockbuster synths can sell 100,000 to 300,000 units. I think with mass market arrangers, manufacturers have a pretty good idea how well they will sell and manufacture accordingly. For more specialized items, like the Karma, Yamaha 9000Pro, I think they make small initial runs to measure interest, and then decide how many to manufacture and at what rate.
