Gang-

I have a Sandisk m240 1.0 GB mp3 player which has worked very nicely for me for about 5 months. About a week agom, I added a Xmas playlist. (I use Yahoo Music Engine) I noticed a few songs would play...then the device would freeze up totally. I'd have to remove the battery to make it responsive again...

I've spoken with both Sandisk and Yahoo...they've each checked their products out and claim everything is as it should be on their end. They say the fault lies with the other party.

Bottom line, I have a xmas playlist that can only play 3-4 songs before freezing up. I've reformatted, reliscenced all the songs, etc, etc., etc.

Anyone have any experience with a problem like this? Any suggestions?

Thanks-

Bill

Hey Bill,
Maybe the Christmas songs are liscenced to another device. Did you download them from the net?
You can't just trade files as easily as a year or so ago. The copy protection prohibits many files from being played on anything other than the unit it was downloaded to.

Dave-

I DL-ed them to Yahoo Music Engine, to whom I pay a monthly fee for the priviledge. I think the problem likely lies with Yahoo because its required that I renew my liscenses twice in the last week for songs I just DL-ed last Sunday...

I still don't understand why people download crappy mp3's from websites and pay virtually as much for them as a CD, which you can rip and transfer to your mp3 player at any desired bit-rate, AND still have a full 16/44 copy on a durable medium.

One simple A/B comparison of the CD to the mp3 through decent speakers or headphones, and you start to realize what you are missing.....

Anyway, back to your problem..... Can you play the individual mp3's no problem, just the playlist that screws up? If so, just create a new playlist....
