I think he lost alot of weight since his PSR3000 demo videos as shown on the Tyros one here.

Yeah it does look like he lost some weight. Great video, but I did notice something that stood out... Or at least it did to me.

Listen to the part where he plays the SA Concert Guitar. This goes back to the topic not too long ago regarding "fret" noise on this particular guitar.

I think the pure sound itself is quite beautiful, but the fret noise used in this sample sounds very unatural to me (maybe that's because I play guitar), so this noise may sound normal to someone not familiar with a guitars nuances.

Can you adjust the nuances within the SA voices? It would be great if you could go in and lower the volume level of the fret noise on this guitar.

Wow! That was a well arranged demo However, that fret noise is still way too overbearing. I've played nylon/classical guitars on many occasion be it for pleasure and performance, and have never produced that amount of fret noise, nor have I ever seen or heard anyone perform with that amount of fret noise either.

I really don't think I'm being too picky either because either it sounds natural or doesn't. Yammie is on the right track, but that fret noise really needs to be adjusted. I think it's very distracting to an otherwise "BEAUTIFUL" voice created by Yamaha.

I find the fret noise overbearing for the most part on single note changes. I noticed this in the first demo you posted and even the MP3 I just listend to from SvpWorld. The fret noise Yamaha uses on this sound from single note changes sounds like the fret noise from a chord change.

Again Yammie is on the right track here with these SA voice. Till this day I nearly wet my pants everytime I listen to the SA Saxaphone demos on Yamaha's website. Gives me chills every time.

I think in time Yammie will tone that particular nuance down, especially considering the SA technology is new.

Squeak ......do you think the T2 design team & other prof musicians listened to the SA Concert Guitar thousands of times before production & all agreed that it was the best they could offer at this time, including the fret noise as added realism? Could you record & post some of your guitar work demos so we can compare fret noises that would be interesting & maybe better to understand?

Really tells the story on how good this product can be when in the hands of a professional. It probably will be my next board.

I'm more than happy to post a few demos of an acoustic guitar (and the user controllable fret noise), however I no longer own a nylon (sold my nylon a while back). Even though I enjoyed my nylon guitar (being more of a "steel" string player), which I'm sure those who play guitar here as well can tell you--Playing an acoustic such as a nice (Ovation with an electric style neck), then switching to a nylon feels like playing a guitar with a 2x4 for a neck

I will however post some demos of the acoustic. I'll do that this evening One thing I'll point out too, is one demo I'll provide will be of simple finger picking. It consists of basic chords. However, when played on the actual (real) acoustic guitar there will be NO fret noise at all due to the order of chord changes and position of my hand on the neck. If this was played on the Tyros2 the Tyros would add fret noise--even though it would be non-existent on the real instrument.

I do believe that they did the best they could with the samples for where they currently are "technology wise" with the SA voices. That's why I said they're on the right track! I can't wait hear where the SA voices will be in 2 years (given the amazing progress they've already made with the T2).

I'll post those acoustic guitar demos this evening.

Dnj,
I forgot to mention this. The demo I'm going to post for you this evening of an acoustic guitar where fret noise shouldn't be present is what I wanted to talk about for a minute.

As you know I'm also a guitar player. I know how the beast behaves If I was to play the demo I'm recording later (on the Tyros2) keys using the SA acoustic guitar you'll hear fret noise, and if you're not a guitar player, you're going to think...DAMN! that sounds so REAL. However, as a guitarist (I'll know) that fret noise shouldn't be there, and its presence to (me)--again knowing how the instrument behaves will sound un-natural.

Again I'm not knocking Yammie, I'm really for the SA voices. I know these voices are (new) to the market, and of course know Yamaha will continue to fine tune them.

This is where I'll defend a guitar player when they hear a keyboards acoustic guitar demo and says it sounds un-natural. A guitarist will know if a nuance in a sound belongs there or not--where as a non guitarist may not.

I'm not trying to offend anyone here either. I'm just giving you my opinion from a guitar players point of view.
