There is immense interest at this forum in the upcoming Tyros. This interest was sparked by George Kaye's marvelous, in-depth review of the prototype that he saw.

As people from Yamaha monitor this forum, I wanted to ask those who are interested in the Tyros if they would be more inclined to buy the keyboard with or without on-board speakers. Keep in mind the weight. You might add what your wattage requirement for speakers would be. If you would prefer on board speakers, would you want higher priced, heavier, but better sounding speakers (perhaps like the PSR9000) or less expensive, lighter, but not top-notch speakers like those that come with the PSR 2000.

Please share your thoughts, but don't digress from the topic.

no need for speakers built in ,i think that
the speakers on top will work as monitor-
speakers when playing with other instruments.
the 60 watt speakers built in my KN6000 have not the right angle for playing with a
band so i use two 50 watt monitors.

regards Arno

The YST-MS50 Speakers (as per 9000PRO) that are shown in the Tyros pictures,Satellites with Sub-Bass unit is adequate, but Yamaha need to include the speakers priced within the package or they will lose a lot of sales from the normal keyboard buyer who only plays at home.

I would prefer it has the speakers included, although not necessarily built in, detachable for those who do not wish to take them to a gig would be the best of both worlds.
Quality of them could be of the average arranger quality for me. All of my work is done in the studio and for output I go straight to the board and bypass the speakers, however when I am composing the tune I need a decent speaker to work with.

I should also say, that if they want to sell me a hard drive....include it already installed and ready to go. Too many problems associated with trying to get these accessories to work after the fact for me.

For the rumored amount of this board, for me to see the value, it will have to have all the goodies with it.

Terry
