These are the same demo's that Korg released on the Korg Pa website. I like these a lot better.. but I still need it in my paws. It would be a substantial investment for me so it would have to be worth it to upgrade. I like the drum sounds I hear, and the lead guitars a lot. Still think I'll like the Psr 2000 better for acoustic guitar sounds and that Superb "vintage Open" sound, but for lead guitar emulations and synth patches, I think the Korg stuff rocks.
One very useful function that the PA80 has is the ability to sound a note or patch upon key release. Makes for a really cool acoustic guitar effect if you insert a muted key click or fret noise sample. If you playing a "picking" style, it makes for a fairly realistic emulation. I was mildly disappointed that the Motif did not have this, ( you can delay the patch being played but no "key off" funcction ) since I think the Yamaha acoustic guitar samples rock. I managed to get a nice emulation by mixing a Yamaha acoustic voice with one of the Korg acoustics and the "key off" type voice.
I'm loving that "rock" demo and the "mix" demo too... we'll see....
