Hey Guys.

I have owned the Yamaha PSR 7000 for many many years. Only the other day a mate gave me the orignal demo disk (which I previously didn't have). It contained customised voices which you can load into the keyboard in a .wav format. I believe that these .wav files are in a special yamaha format? does anyone know about converting these or any more info?

Thanks

Are you trying to convert these for your Psr7000, or for another keyboard,or just load them into your board?there should be a "convert" button on the panel ,if your just trying to get your 7G to play them.

Hey! Many thanks for your reply, sorry, I didnt' explain it that good previously, it was late in the evening

I want to convert a normal .wav file into the yamaha format. (I think it is a special format, i'm not sure, because i tried to load one of the sample .wav files on my PC from the PSR 7000 disk, and it just would not load the file)

Shakeel may be onto something IF these are samples your are trying to load m134mr..but you said you were trying to load "custom" voices intended for your 7000 by Yamaha right? are you sure when you save it from your computer to a floppy, you are putting
it like this: Dreampiano.wav OR perhaps: Piano.usr
one of these typos should do it..if this is the issue.

Basicly, I just want to load a .wav file into the PSR 7000. On the demo disk, where you have got all the folders located on the floppy disk (i.e REG, SET, PAD etc), there is a folder called WAV. Inside this folder there are speech samples in a .wav format, for some reason these do not play on the PC, but they load up on the PSR 7000. I was planning to use the demo disk as a guide, and use an example on how yamaha loaded these .wav files into the keyboard, but it seems as though they have been encoded the .wav file in a different format, as this will not play on the PC? I will try a normal microsoft PCM .wav file, but I think I will need a converter for this special yamaha format?

I know the yamaha PSR 7000 does not have a built in sampler to sample your own sounds, but it must be able to load some samples, hance the demo disk.
