Hi All,
I'm thinking of getting a Casio CTK-800. The main purpose of this board will be to help me create lead sheets. I like the price at 150 and supposedly with its USB I can plug it straight into my laptop where I use Voyetra's PrintMusic.

I like the 61 keys as opposed to a higher end keyboard like a WK3700. I just need 61 keys, and a decent sound and USB, and low price.

Does anyone know of any problems with these CTK-800's?

Thanks in advance
Bob

I have the wk 3000, but in general...the Casio keyboards make a nice input tool. Things you may want to consider...is the keyboard able to send 'velocity' information (changes in volume...how hard you play a note), and do you need an ability to 'bend' notes (like a guitar). Best reguards

Thanks for your reply Jim.

Note bending and velocity are not that critical. This board will mainly be used to input notes to a notation software. For genuine sequencing/playing/recording.... My S90 and ES7 crank!

The critical things I need are:
1) USB
2) self contained speakers
3) small and light (not more the 61 keys, even 49 would be ok)

I think the CTK-800 is the only board to have those things? no?

Yes, looks like a good keyboard. I checked out the features here: http://www.musiciansfriend.com/srs7/g=home/navigation?q=CTK-800
